Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. Tajalla has no servers. We do not run analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or any tracking. We do not require an account. We do not display ads. We do not use cookies, IDFA, fingerprinting, or any other identifier.

What stays on your device

Tajalla saves the following locally on your iPhone (in iOS UserDefaults) so the app can remember your progress between sessions. None of this leaves your device:

• Memorisation progress (which āyāt you've marked memorised, repetition counts, streaks)
• Bookmarks, notes, highlights
• Last-read position
• Hifz plan + Khatmah plan + Reading plan
• Adhkar counters
• Settings (language, theme, age band, reciter, daily goal, prayer-notification preferences)
• Profile (display name, avatar emoji)
• Last-known coordinates (latitude/longitude) for prayer-time + Qibla calculation
• Cached audio files in your app's Documents folder for offline playback

You can wipe all of this via Settings → Factory reset.

Permissions Tajalla requests

When you first use a feature, iOS will ask permission. Tajalla only requests what each feature needs:

• Microphone + Speech Recognition — used by the Recitation Check feature. Audio is processed on-device by Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer; we never write microphone audio to disk and never send audio to any server we control.
• Location — used by Prayer Times and Qibla. Coordinates are stored on-device only. Coarse location (rounded to ~11 km) is sent to the public weather endpoint at api.open-meteo.com for the Ibadah-hub weather strip; no identity is attached.
• Notifications — used for daily-reminder, adhkar-reminder, and prayer-time alerts you turn on yourself. Scheduled and delivered entirely by iOS UNUserNotificationCenter; nothing leaves your device.

Network connections

Tajalla makes only the following network requests, all over HTTPS:

• https://everyayah.com/data/<reciter>/<surah><ayah>.mp3 — audio streams for the reciter you select. The CDN sees your IP address (unavoidable for any HTTP request) and the URL path. No identifying headers, no cookies.
• https://api.open-meteo.com/v1/forecast — weather context for the Ibadah hub. Coarse coords only, no identity.
• Apple StoreKit endpoints — used by the optional Sonbolah contribution program. Apple handles the transaction; we receive only entitlement state.

That's it.

Children

Tajalla is suitable for users of any age, including children aged 6+. We collect no data from anyone, including children. The Junior (6–10) age band is a UI preference stored locally — it adjusts default reciter, font size, and pace recommendations.

Third-party services and SDKs

There are none. No Firebase, no Sentry, no Crashlytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no advertising SDKs. The complete list of frameworks Tajalla imports is Apple-provided only: AVFoundation, Combine, CoreLocation, EventKit, Foundation, MediaPlayer, Speech, StoreKit, SwiftUI, UIKit, UserNotifications.

Your rights

Because Tajalla collects no data, there is nothing for you to request, correct, or delete from any server. To clear local data, use Settings → Factory reset, or uninstall the app.
